We are excited to have Rebecca Strauss return to our team as a full-time designer after interning with us last summer. Rebecca received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Pennsylvania State University in May of 2024 with a minor in Sociology. She loved being a part of group projects in college and so enjoys being a part of a collaborative design process. Rebecca strives to communicate well with all of her project teams which ultimately makes designing together an enjoyable experience. She considers herself to be adaptable, organized, and diligent as a designer.
In the fall semester of her last year, she worked on a collaborative community-engaged design project. She worked with a team to propose designs for the redevelopment of the waterfront area of Warren, PA. The team identified key programmatic zones to design through a series of visits to the town and workshops with its residents. Rebecca’s focus was on designing a kayak storage and training facility as the town currently lacks this type of structure.
In the spring semester of her last year, Rebecca participated in an Artificial Intelligence research studio. The goal of this course was to explore the possibilities of AI in design and develop a research center for broader impacts. The group interacted with a variety of AI programs, including Leonardo.Ai, DALL-E, and Midjourney, and used AI in different aspects of the project. Rebecca’s research center was focused on neuroscience and she used an AI generated image to inspire the concept and form of the building.
In Rebecca’s free time, she enjoys various outdoor activities including rock climbing, hiking, and traveling. She recently took a trip to Peru with her family where they explored various historic sites and hiked part of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!
We are glad to have Rebecca back as a full-time member of the TSP design team! Welcome back, Rebecca!
