We are excited to announce the newest member of The Sheward Partnership team! Matthew Johnston, AIA, NCARB has joined TSP as the Architectural Technical Director, overseeing our architectural design team in a QA/QC role from our Philadelphia office.
With over 35 years of professional experience, Matt has led a broad range of significant projects in the areas of transportation, aviation, government, community, education and office facilities. He is skilled in managing collaborative teams for technically complex projects from project concept through design and construction and has worked in aviation for nearly 30 years. As an experienced leader, he combines a commitment to design excellence with technical expertise, attention to detail and a focus on quality.
Prior to joining TSP, Matt worked on a variety of projects including transit, transportation, civic and K – 12 educational facilities. His work at Philadelphia International Airport includes the Terminal DE Expansion and Comcast’s Executive Aviation Hangar. His most recent transit work includes the renovation of SEPTA’s 11th Street Station and the Center City Concourses which connect many of SEPTA’s downtown stations.
Matt received a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Architecture from University at Buffalo. He is a member of the AIA and been an active member of the Philadelphia chapter’s Promoting Advocacy through Licensure + Mentorship program (PALM).
In his free time, Matt enjoys sailing, classic cars, and spending time with his family.
