We are excited to introduce our summer intern, Rebecca Strauss!
Rebecca is an architecture student at Penn State University and will be starting her fifth and final year of the program in the fall. She has previously interned at an architecture/engineering firm where she used original hard copy plans to create computer drawings as well as worked on a variety of projects. Rebecca also interned at an architecture firm in Israel where she enhanced drawings of completed projects for a firm promotional book.
At Penn State this past semester, Rebecca was in a collaborative studio where she worked with a team of students in architecture, landscape architecture, and engineering to design a micro-hospital. She enjoyed learning from the other disciplines to create a cohesive and efficient design together. In the fall, Rebecca studied abroad in Denmark and appreciated being a part of their bike culture and their laid-back lifestyle. Rebecca was intrigued to learn about adaptive re-use in one of her courses abroad, which is a big architectural field in Denmark.
In Rebecca’s free time she likes to rock climb and has been climbing for eight years. Below is a photo of her climbing at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Rebecca also like to hike, read, and spend time with her friends and family.
Welcome, Rebecca! We are glad to have you here this summer.
