Philadelphia International Airport – American Airlines Terminal F Baggage Claim Building

The Department of Aviation and the City of Philadelphia commissioned The Sheward Partnership to expand and renovate the existing Terminal F. This $150 million project included a new Baggage Claim Building to serve the American Airlines Terminal. The two story baggage claim hall is light-filled and dynamic space, in contrast to most baggage claims, which are frequently utilitarian and relegated to a lower level. The Sheward Partnership was awarded an AIA Honor Award for the design of the Baggage Claim by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Sheward Partnership also served as the Sustainability and LEED Consultant, achieving a LEED Gold rating under the LEED 2009 for New Construction Rating System.
